The canteen is the "Half-moon" type. It holds about a quart. We line these with pitch to help prevent rust and furnish a birch stopper with thong and a cotton rope with tassels. Made of stainless steel, it is a bit shinier than the photo of our #71 tin canteen that's shown here.
