Mr.
The large French private soldier’s knife is of simple construction with a brass pin through the wood handle holding the blade in place. The blade is large and dull. You use your thumb on the pressure plate where the knife hinges keep the knife open. No makers mark on knife.
What can I say? This is a really great knife for the price. It sharpened up nicely and will easily slice a tomato. The shape of the blade makes it efficient for spreading mayo and peanut butter on sandwiches. It cuts cooked meat easily. It is comfortable in the hand. This knife would be equally at home in the kitchen, reenactment or camping. I am not sure it is up to heavy duty work as the blade is held in place by a brass pin through wood with no reinforcement.
