outstanding
I compiled multiple sources on Continental army uniforms, and according to several, this epaulet seems to be quite historically accurate for infantry and cavalry officers. It is very high quality for the price. I'm impressed. Several of my sources say that after the regulation change of 1779, sub-alterns (lieutenants, cornets, and ensigns) wore one on the left shoulder. Captains wore one on the right shoulder. Majors, lieutenant colonels, and colonels wore one on each shoulder. My ancestor whom I'm emulating was a lieutenant, so I only need one. If I needed another or was putting together another uniform, I would not hesitate to buy again.
