"Collectors Illustrated Encyclopedia" page 272.
Woodsman's Whistle: [#366] Neatly cut from tips of deer antler, they emit a high, shrill note.
Comes with 18" neck chain.
Sergeant's Whistle, 18th Century: [#291] Taken from "Collector's Illustrated Encyclopedia of the
American Revolution" by Neumann-Kravic. Hand-turned, polished hardwood. Average
length 4 1/2" long. Then as now - what is a sergeant without a whistle?
