Scarificator -or- Spring Lancet with case: An excellent copy of an original in our collection. The spring
lancet was invented by a German in 1680. Some were extremely ornate and could produce as
many as 16 cuts to the skin at one time. Ours is a single bladed version of brass and
steel circa 1780 although the shape and design changed little as far back as 1700.
