And be sure to see our newest addition, Colonial Rose Doll fashions, for your American Girl Doll!

Bib-Front Apron: This was both attractive and useful. This serviceable accessory is made of heavy natural color linen and styled after a 1782 engraving. The Bib Front is plain, designed to be pinned onto the bodice worn beneath.
Price: $49.00
.
Plain Fichu: For everyday use, this was a humble but practical item. This is a 36" square of doubled cotton material which can be folded to form a triangular neck-kerchief. Use this to fill in a low neckline for modesty or to keep off a chill outdoors.
Price: $12.50

.

Mrs. Washington's Fichu: The fichu/neckerchief was a favorite fashion accessory, and Mrs. Washington is seen wearing this item in many portraits. Our "Martha" version is an oversized kerchief, done in a lightweight, plain white fabric, which can be worn over the shoulders or inside the neckline of the gown.
Price: $40.00
.

Pockets: These were a most necessary item for a woman to keep her personal necessities close at hand. They were worn beneath the petticoat and accessible through the side slits. Godwin's offers a Set of Pockets, done in assorted colors in linen on a waist tie. Pockets are removable from the waist tie for washing, or perhaps for embellishing with a bit of your own embroidery.
Price: $28.00

.

Pocket Panniers:
Also called side hoops, were worn beneath the lady's gown and petticoat to give a wide, billowing effect to 18th century formal and semi-formal clothing. Like the original kind, these are fixed to a waistband made to the wearer's size and are simply tied on around the waist. We recommend that the knot or bow be offset either to the right or left so that no unsightly "bulge" will show in the center front when the dress is put on.
(Note: The pannier hooping is not washable. To remove it for washing, carefully take out the stitching at the ends of the hoop casing and pull out the hooping.)
Price: $58.75
