Musket Tool: [#2] Named
after its inventor; large bit for tightening the flint cap screw, small one for use on all
of the others. Sharp tail used to clear musket touch-hole and the thick back became a
hammer for tapping a new sharp edge on flint in an emergency. Hardened and tempered steel.
British Army Triangular Musket Tool: [#112] Two screw driver bits and a pin punch which could also be used to
clear the touch-hole. Handmade copy of an original, hardened and tempered. Few have been
found, indicating that probably only non-coms may have carried them. A very useful and
authentic tool. The original is in the Smithsonian Institute.
Musket Tool, American: [#142] Copied from an original found at Fort Frederick, MD. Hand-forged
right angle screw driver for tightening the flint cap and pricker for cleaning the
touch-hole.
