Leather "Bottle"
: Leather bottles have a long history in Britain and were found in the households of kings and commoners alike. They were relatively durable and inexpensive as compared to glass and ceramic bottles of the day. Although constructed in numerous forms, the barrel shape was the most common. The style depicted here can be traced back to the 11th century. These come in three sizes: Small, which holds 1.5 pints; Medium, which holds 1.75 quarts; and Large, which holds 2.5 gallons.Small (1.5 pint)
