Bullet Extractor: This is the first extractor, dating back to 1535. The hollow rod
with screw end is inserted into the path of the bullet wound. When contact is made with
the bullet, the top of the extractor is rotated and thereby turns the screw end into the
soft lead. This instrument remained in use up to the First World War.
